In this post, I’ll show you how to create beautiful liquid-style patterned AI wallpapers perfectly sized for modern smartphone displays using Ideogram.ai, a free online image diffusion model. Once you learn how you can create these images, you can save them and use them as your own personal phone backgrounds.

Some Background Info Before We Get Started
Even though I chose to use Ideogram in this tutorial, these prompting techniques can be applied to other AI image generators as well. I’ve tried some of them in Dalle-3, Stable Diffusion, Leonardo, and Midjourney and they all gave good results although the final image will come out a little differently depending on what you choose to use.
Most new phones have displays with a 9:16 aspect ratio, so we’ll be generating wallpapers in that size. Ideogram makes it easy to adjust to that aspect ratio for your output images and so you should have no problems using these as your own personal wallpapers.
Making Liquid Wallpaper Images With Prompts
I upscaled the images below using Topaz Gigapixel so they are nice, high resolution images for you to use.
